The new Dive Index album, Waving At Airplanes features vocals from Natalie Walker and Conrad Lambert (Merz). It was created with sounds that were almost entirely sourced from modular synthesizer and piano - including percussion - along with some acoustic guitar and the occasional noise that leaked into the studio (i.e. nail gun, jackhammer). The songs delve into themes such as missed connections (Window To Window) the rugged beauty of the Mojave Desert (Pristine Wilderness) the implications of an Artificial Intelligence relationship (Wish I Had A Pulse) and the environmental effects of climate change (We Can’t Change The Channel).

The music on Waving At Airplanes was written and produced by Will Thomas and is the fifth album released under his collaborative Dive Index project. Past albums have featured Joseph Arthur, Mark Gardener (Ride) and Ian Masters (Pale Saints). Will has also released multiple albums on the London based Hydrogen Dukebox label as Plumbline, two of which were collaborations with Roger Eno. He has composed film scores, modern dance pieces and developed a sound installation driven by an app that creates crowd-sourced arrangements.
